Songapse

Privacy policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

In short: right now we only collect your email address, and only if you join the waitlist. We use it to tell you when Songapse launches. We never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Who we are

Songapse is an app for iPhone and iPad, coming in 2027. It is run by Lisa Barry, a sole trader in Australia (ABN 62 264 466 545). In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Songapse.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect on this website

Like any website, our host keeps basic technical logs (such as your IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use these to identify you.

How we use your email address

We won't add you to any other list, and we will never sell, rent or trade your email address.

Where it's stored

Waitlist sign-ups are stored by our website host, Netlify, which keeps data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. When we send the launch email, we may use an email service to send it. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.

Your choices

About the app

When the app launches, your details and memories will stay private on your device and in your own iCloud account. Songapse won't receive them. To fill in song facts, the app will look up song names in music databases, which doesn't include any personal information. We'll update this policy with full details for the app before it launches.

Questions or complaints

Email support@songapse.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
